AI Connector & API Terms
These terms cover the Plains Ledger AI connector (
/api/mcp) and API (/api/v1), published by Plains Oversight Group LLC.- Free use. The connector and API are free to use, with no account.
- Attribution. If you publish results, credit “Source: Plains Ledger (plainsledger.org), from FEC/NADC filings” and link the underlying filing.
- No misrepresentation. Do not present results as something the filings do not say, or alter figures and attribute them to Plains Ledger.
- Federal data use. Do not use information drawn from FEC reports to solicit contributions or for commercial purposes where federal law prohibits it. The connector does not serve individual contributor data.
- Contributor information. Information about contributors in public campaign-finance filings may not be used to solicit contributions or for commercial purposes under 52 U.S.C. § 30111(a)(4); by using Plains Ledger and its connector or API you agree not to use it for those purposes.
- Fair use of capacity. Respect the rate and size limits. Do not use the connector for bulk copying of the site.
- As is. Data comes from public filings and may contain filer errors or delays. It is provided as is, without warranty. Public filing data; not legal advice; verify at the linked filing.
- Changes. The connector may change, be limited or be switched off at any time.
- Governing law. Nebraska.
