How to Submit a Correction or Amended Filing
If you believe a figure, entity classification, or cross-reference on Plains Ledger is inaccurate or superseded by a newer official filing, please send:
- The URL of the Plains Ledger page and the exact entity name or ID (e.g.,
nadc-7688,fec-C00832436, or EIN). - The specific official filing (NADC Org ID / Filing ID, FEC image/transaction number, USAspending award ID, or IRS Form 990 EIN and tax period) that shows a different figure or relationship.
- A brief explanation of the discrepancy (for example, an amended NADC statement or a name collision between two distinct entities).

How We Handle Amendments & Entity Collisions
- Amended Filings: When a committee files an amended report with the NADC or FEC, our next data refresh replaces the superseded transaction or summary row automatically.
- Fuzzy-Match Collisions: Cross-references between 990 grantees, USAspending awardees, and NADC/FEC committees use normalized legal names and EINs where available. If two distinct organizations share a similar name and have been merged in error, we add an explicit disambiguation rule to the ETL pipeline upon verification.
- Official Record Controls: We do not remove accurate information that appears in official public filings, and we do not alter classifications that reflect the statutory form on which an entity filed.
